HoW DO I RESERVE MY PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION?

Booking your wedding photographY is straightforward but requires timely action to secure your date. Here’s how it usually works:

  • Initial Inquiry: You reach out via phone, email, or website form.

  • Consultation Call: We discuss your wedding details, style preferences, and photography needs.

  • Proposal and Contract: I send a detailed proposal outlining packages, pricing, and terms.

  • Deposit: To reserve your date, a non-refundable deposit is required, typically 25% of the total fee.

  • Signed Contract: Once you sign the contract and pay the deposit, your date is officially booked.

Booking early is crucial, especially for popular Virginia wedding dates in spring and fall. Many couples book their wedding photographer 9-12 months in advance to allow time to make payments.

Do I Need a Second Photographer?

Adding a second photographer depends on the size and style of your wedding. Here are some factors to consider:

  • Guest Count: For weddings with 150+ guests, a second shooter helps cover multiple angles and moments.

  • Venue Layout: Large venues or events with separate locations (like a first look in one spot and ceremony elsewhere) benefit from two photographers.

  • Coverage Needs: If you want simultaneous coverage of bride and groom getting ready photos at seperate locations, i require a second photographer to ensure you have coverage without having to rush getting ready.

  • Budget: A second shooter adds to the cost but provides more comprehensive coverage.

Can I Add Other Sessions to My Wedding Collection?

Yes! many couples want to include extra sessions beyond the wedding day. Common add-ons include:

  • Engagement Session: A relaxed photo shoot before the wedding to get comfortable in front of the camera.

  • Bridal Portraits: Formal portraits of the bride in her gown, often done separately from the wedding day.

  • Bridal Boudoir: A great option for a gift to your soon to be husband on the wedding day.

  • Rehearsal Dinner Coverage: Capturing candid moments with family and friends the night before.

  • Post-Wedding Brunch: intimate gathering of close friends and family the morning after the wedding.

  • Bridal Boudoir: A GREAT GIFT FOR YOUR HUSBAND TO BE TO OPEN THE MORNING OF YOUR WEDDING DAY!

Adding these sessions can be done at the time of booking or later, depending on availability.

How Do You ORGANIZE Family Photos?

Family photos are a key part of wedding photography but can sometimes feel overwhelming. Here’s how I manage them efficiently and smoothly:

  • Pre-Wedding Planning: I help couples prepare a list of family groupings ahead of time. I HIGHLY SUGGEST KEEPING THIS LIST TO IMMEDIATE FAMILY.

  • Designated Coordinator: Often a family member or wedding planner helps gather people quickly. I suggest sending an email or group text with all the individuals who will be included in family portraits and where and when to meet so we dont have to hunt people down.

  • Efficient Workflow: I organize shots in a unique way that i find works well for most situatons. I begin with elderly or disabled family members so they can sit down or head inside. From there i take every image that will have the bride in it first because it saves time trying to readjust the dress and keeps your dress from getting dirty. Then we move on to images that may not incude the bride like portraits with the groom and his family if thats what you choose to do.

  • Clear Communication: I guide everyone on where to stand and how to pose for natural, flattering photos.

This approach keeps family photos organized and enjoyable, so you can get back to celebrating. USUALLY THIS TAKES ME A MAX OF 25 MINUETS TO DO IF EVERYONE IS GATHERED AT THE RIGHT LOCATION.

Do I Need to Do Formal Bridal Portraits?

Formal bridal portraits are optional but offer several benefits:

  • Timeless Keepsakes: These portraits focus on the bride. THIS IS A GREAT ADD ON SESSION IF YOU WANT MORE PORTRAIT TIME WITHOUT INTERRUPTING THE WEDDING DAY .

  • Practice for the Wedding Day: It helps you feel more comfortable in front of the camera AND REALLY LETS YOU SEE HOW YOUR HAIR AND MAKEUP TRIAL WILL LOOK ON CAMERA BEFORE THE BID DAY.

  • Flexible Timing: You can schedule them before or after the wedding day.

If your wedding day is packed with events, doing bridal portraits separately can reduce stress and allow for more creative shots.

Can I Use My Engagement Session as a Bridal Session?

YES! HOWEVER KEEP THIS IN MIND, YOUR VENUE MAY NOT BE AVALIBLE TO ALLOW US TO TAKE THOSE BRIDAL PORTRAITS AHEAD OF TIME. THERE ARE OTHER FACTOR AS WELL THAT WOULD MAKE THIS SITUATION BASED BUT GENERALLY I DON'T MIND SWITCHING OUT AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION TO DO BRIDAL OR NEWLYWED PORTRAITS.

Can I Make Payments on My Virginia wedding photography collections remaining Balance?

Yes!! flexible payment plans are available for the remaining balance after your deposit. Typical options include:

  • Installments: Divide the balance into monthly payments leading up to the wedding.

  • Due Dates: Final payment is usually required 30 days before the wedding date.

  • Payment Methods: I ONLY ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. IF YOU CHOOSE A PAYMENT PLAN, MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD UPON BOOKING.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST BOOKING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY AT LEAST 8 MONTHS IN ADVANCED SO YOU HAVE AMPLE TIME TO MAKE PAYMENTS.

Are You Licensed and Insured?

Yes, I am fully licensed and insured for Virginia wedding photography. This means:

  • Professional Standards: I comply with local business regulations and tax requirements.

  • Liability Insurance: Protects you and me in case of accidents or unforeseen issues during the event.

  • Equipment Coverage: Insurance covers my gear, ensuring I can replace or repair equipment if needed.

Hiring a licensed and insured wedding photographer gives you peace of mind that your investment is protected.
