A Colonial Williamsburg Engagement Session
When Cambray and I began planning her and David's Colonial Williamsburg engagement session, we had to reschedule not once, but twice because of weather and family emergencies. First, we planned to go to Colonial Williamsburg during the Christmas festivities, but in the end, our session finally took place this past Saturday, April 18th, and honestly, it worked out for the better. Cambray is a student at William and Mary College, so she was my designated tour guide for her session and took me to three locations she had her heart set on for her engagement photos. I have to say, their gallery is probably my favorite gallery of 2026. The vibrant spring colors, lighting, and the chemistry she and David share really make this gallery something out of a storybook.
The Governors Palace-Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

My jaw dropped when I walked into the town of Colonial Williamsburg and saw the Governor's Palace. I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect place to take engagement photos in Virginia than this property. The gardens are meticulously kept, and everything was blooming. There was color everywhere you looked, from the green grass to the tulips. Think Biltmore Estate on a much smaller scale, and that's what the gardens at the Governor's Palace were like.
Rockefeller's Bassett Hall-Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia
This property was equally stunning but had its own small-town charm. Rockefeller's Bassett Hall is a large manor house with perfectly trimmed hedges and a walkway to the property that is to die for. As we walked farther back onto the property, I immediately realized the buttercup-infested paddock for the horses runs alongside this property, and it was STUNNING. Like the Governor's Palace, Rockefeller's Bassett Hall has so many locations to use for pictures that I'd probably need a whole weekend to really explore the property and take it all in.
Crim Del Bridge - College of William & Mary Williamsburg, Virginia

The Crim Dell Bridge was a gift from the class of 1964 and is a popular spot for couples and engagements for students of William & Mary College. As I was waiting for Cambray and David to arrive, I actually witnessed a proposal on top of the bridge, which was so sweet and magical. Cambray was telling me about the lore of the bridge and how if you cross it with a friend and you're holding hands, you'll be friends for a lifetime, and if you share a kiss on that bridge, you will be lovers for a lifetime. How romantic?!
The bridge itself stretches across a small pond and is shaded in every direction by trees. It was the perfect spot to end our engagement session. I didn't realize this until I walked onto the bridge myself, but couples place locks all along the bridge with their names printed or carved on them. I found multiple trees that have etchings of initials and dates, which added to the romantic vibe of the session.
I have to say, Cambray and Davids engagement session has a special place in my heart and I will definitley be coming back to explore more of the town and all the shops and historical landmarks Williamsburg has to offer. You can view Cambray and Davids full gallery at the link below.
